Since its inception in 1991, DONGWOO FINE-CHEM starts the high-purity electronic chemical business for semiconductors. We have succeeded in producing process chemicals and photo resist with our own technologies, making a great contribution to the development of the Korean semiconductor industry. In addition, we have made the most of the technical expertise accumulated in the semiconductor materials business and our business capabilities to further expand into the advanced display materials business.
In order to produce color filters and polarizing films essential for TFT-LCD manufacturing, we have launched Dongwoo STI and Dongwoo Optical Film as joint venture in cooperation with Sumitomo Chemical, a Japanese company and our shareholders. This event started the beginning of mass-producing these materials in earnest.
