According to a study carried out by IMS Research, SEMIKRON, the world`s leading independent manufacturer of power electronics, is the world leader in diode/thyristor modules with a market share of 30%. There are 11600 different semiconductors in the product range from 1 W to several MW. SEMIKRON's product range in the area of power electronics includes chips, discrete diodes / thyristors, power modules (IGBT / MOSFET / diode / thyristor / CIB / IPM), driver and protection components and integrated subsystems. "SEMIKRON inside" has become a trade mark for applications such as electric drives, wind mills, electric vehicles, automotive, welding machines, elevators, power supplies, conveyor belts and trams. As a significant innovator in the power electronics sector, many of the pioneering developments were introduced as industrial standard.
