一九九八年七月，在國家科技部火炬高技術發展中心和廣州市政府的批准和支援下，由國家級火炬計劃項目《SAT紅外熱像儀》技術承擔單位的北京颯特檢測技術有限公司與廣州市電力總公司等多家電力企業共同投資，創辦了“廣州颯特電力紅外技術有限公司''。 作為二十世紀國際科技界一項傑出的高新技術——“紅外熱成像技術''以國家級火炬計劃項目的身份落戶廣州，又得到多家國有電力企業的積極投入，這就為廣州颯特電力紅外技術有限公司的迅速發展、壯大奠定了堅實的基礎。 二000年，一個新興的高科技現代化企業在廣州經濟技術開發區建成投產，擁有獨立自主知識產權的國產紅外熱像儀品牌“颯特紅外''正式豎起自己的大旗，從此吹響了我國民用紅外熱像儀產業“打破列強壟斷、收回國內市場、進軍國際市場的衝鋒號角''。 二00二年，在美國奧蘭多國際光機協會展覽會上，颯特公司自主研發的HY6800測溫型紅外熱成像儀首次為中國同類熱像儀產品贏得了國際聲譽；二00四年，與日本NEC公司簽訂OEM合作協議，代表中國紅外技術發展水準的高科技產品 S160熱像儀第一次成功地批量進入日本紅外市場；二00五年九月九日，由颯特公司負責起草的國際首創的民用紅外熱像儀國家標準（GB/T19870-2005《工業檢測型紅外熱像儀》）正式發佈。如今，颯特公司已經成為了國際市場上名列前茅的民用紅外熱成像研發及生產企業，“颯特紅外''已成為了國際著名的紅外熱像儀品牌。 Guangzhou SAT Infrared Technology Co.
