The Performance Products Segment of GenTek Inc. (NASDAQ: GETI) includes General Chemical's two business segments: Water Treatment Chemicals, Electronics Chemicals and Sulfur Products and Reheis Inc. GenTek Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision industrial components and performance products, was spun-off from The General Chemical Group in 1999.
General Chemical's businesses produce value-added, performance chemicals, marketed in the Americas, Europe and Far East, to four industry segments: Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products, Environmental Products and Services, Technology, and Chemical Processing.
Our chemicals help purify water, produce semiconductors and printed microcircuits, improve poultry production, control phosphorus run-off and enhance the production and quality of everything from sports drinks, shrimp and salsa to antiperspirants and paper. Chances are, our performance chemistries have been involved in making just about every product or process that improves the quality of life.
General Chemical Performance Products LLC traces its roots to 1899 when it was created in one of the first mergers in the pioneer U.S. chemicals industry. Headquartered in Parsippany, N.J., we operate a vast network of plants in the Americas, facilities in Europe, in addition to technical centers, warehouses, terminals, and distribution fleets.
